Multi-Sensory Training (MST) is a proven non-invasive intervention designed to help the brain learn or relearn multi-sensory processing, This impactful training provides development and retraining for all ages and stages of life. It is not a stand-alone intervention, but rather a powerful adjunct to the overall care of those with many conditions ranging from Autism and ADHD to concussions and traumatic brain injuries.
The first brain skill that we learn is multi-sensory processing. This refers to the ability to filter, modulate, and integrate the multiple senses our brain receives from the environment. This skill should be learned by about age 3. But often traumas, toxins, viruses/infections or other events prevent or disrupt this normal development. Delays or damage in fundamental multi-sensory processing causes the “new” brain (the neocortex) to have to put forth higher levels of effort and energy into this lower-level brain function which it is not designed to perform. This results in frustration, anxiety, inattention, avoidance behavior, brain fog, poor memory, speech difficulty and more.
An evaluation is the first step at MindSync to determine how MST can benefit you or your child. Various tests are performed, which may include an auditory listening profile and tests to measure visual memory/functional visual fields and performance of balance. These results are also used as a benchmark for future testing that is completed several weeks after one has concluded the program at MindSync to measure progress & improvements.
MST at MindSync consists of 12 consecutive days of visits to the office (1 hour per day). The participant views a computerized light instrument while lying on a gently rotating multi-sensory table and listening to modulating music tracks. This is followed by 18 days of using a light therapy unit in the convenience of your home twice a day.

People who complete MST report improvements in:

*Calmness
*Better Focus
*Emotional/Behavioral Regulation
*Enhanced Memory
*Greater Confidence
*Increased Receptive/Expressive Language
*Advancements in Reading/Learning
*Gains with Speech Ability and Articulation
*Improved Coordination
*Reduction with sleep issues
*Social Awareness Skills
*Executive Functioning Abilities
*Sensory Modulation
*Mental Flexibility
*Please note that each client case is unique and results cannot be guaranteed.

MindSync is unique in that we offer valuable services that complement and may improve the efficacy of multiple-sensory training. While clients are welcome to come to us solely for MST, we do offer nutrition coaching/support, detoxification programs and wellness protocols that help address root causes such as mold, Lyme/co-infections and much more. We also offer clinical massage and will soon offer cranial sacral therapy (which is a great intervention following MST). We do encourage all participants of MST to continue to work with a qualified healthcare practitioner to monitor progress of any diagnosed conditions.
Developmental and learning delays are often a result of a child not having optimal multi-sensory processing skills. MST helps a child learn the subconscious skill of multi-sensory modulation. MST has also been shown to be very effective clinically in assisting children (non-concussion based) overcome delays in sensory processing disorders often associated with ADHD, anxiety, or autistic based delays. MST is designed to help these children be calmer and more confident in their environment (both new and familiar) and therefore more fully engage in life activities.
Concussion can cause disruption of the neuro-pathways that provide multi-sensory processing. Many of the persistent symptoms associated with concussions or TBIs are a result of this disruption. MST helps the concussed patient relearn the subconscious skill of multi-sensory filtering through a repetitive, non-cognitive, safe, and controlled protocol.
